Use Tally ERP9 in your Local Language & How to add language dictionery

Have you tried Tally.ERP 9 in Local language. Tally Support 13 Local languages other than English.They are,

  1. Arabic (Saudi Arabia)
  2. Bahasa Indonesia.
  3. Bahasa Melayu
  4. Bengali
  5. Gujarati
  6. Hindi
  7. Hinglish
  8. Kannada
  9. Malayalam
  10. Marathi
  11. Punjabi.
  12. Tamil.
  13. Telugu.

To activate the Language in Tally.ERP 9 ,Click on Language button provided at Top button bar of Tally.ERP 9.


The list of language will be displayed.

Select the language

If this button will not working for you then try the following step to activate multi language support in Tally ERP 9.

Download language dictionaries here

The page will look like this.

Then Create a Folder namely ‘Lang’ inside software folder.

Copy the downloaded language file  to the  Lang Folder inside Tally.ERP9 Software folder.

Then open Tally.ini file and add language file  path to ‘LangPath’

;;Specify location of Language Files
LangPath=C:\Program Files\Tally.ERP9\Lang

Save the file and restart Tally.ERP 9 and check whether  local language is working with your Tally.ERP 9.

    I have added arabic language according to the way you described above but I cannot find arabic in my Tally software still.
    what could be the possible reasons.

    I also had the same issue. Actually in the ‘lang’ folder there was already the file ‘arabic.dct’ but I downloaded it again and replaced the old file with new one. Now working fine. please try it, might be work for you as well.

    For Tamil I am trying but I don’t know where is tally.ini

    • right click on the tally icon, click on properties> Click on open file location, inside the folder you will fnd tally ini

    In the list of languages there is no Chinese language. How can this be solved. Thank you
